Ann Arbor City Council Voting Chart for the Meeting of January 11, 2024

Here’s the agenda. Note: this meeting was moved from Monday, January 8 to Thursday January 11 during a special session of council, in order to avoid conflict with the CFB National Championship Game.

The meeting kicks off with an 16-item consent agenda. There are street closings for Festifools, Fool Moon, Tech Trek, and the Big House 5k.

There are no public hearings on the agenda.

There is one ordinance at the first reading. C-1 would prohibit contractors from asking for criminal history until after a job offer is made, for any hires that are working on city projects. It will come back for a public hearing and second reading at the next meeting.

There are five resolutions. DC-1 is a resolution denouncing rising hate and discrimination, and asking for a ceasefire in Gaza and Israel. DC-2 directs the City Administrator to create an advisory group to evaluate the city’s apparel vendors for compliance with sweatshop-free labor standards. DC-3 sells 404 N. Ashley to the Housing Commission for $1, in order to construct affordable housing on the site. DC-4 reaffirms the city’s commitment to creating an unarmed crisis response program. DC-5 closes streets for Michigan Football’s national championship parade on Saturday the 13th.
